Dr. Jerry Pinkerton
Dr. Pinkerton decided to become a small town doctor as he walked in a small native village in Alaska with his dad who was a bivocational pastor/surveyor.   He had planned on going to Alaska but ended up working in rural in health in North Carolina which he describes as a blessing.

He states that he loves Wilkes County and he is excited to have this chance to serve the people of Wilkes doing what he loves- MEDICINE.  He thinks that this concept of practicing medicine and the fact that such great care is "available to everyone with or without insurance is just icing on the cake".

Dr. Pinkerton  has lived in Wilkes for 31 years and has raised 4 kids here.  He has a son who is a doctor at Duke, one who is a pastor in Wilkes, one who works for a corporation extension in Wilkes and one who is an English teacher in Western NC.  He and his wife enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.

He loves God, family, history, hiking, mission trips (Honduras, Mexico, Jamaica, Cambodia, PEN and Kenya) and of course small town medicine!
